Morning Rituals That Will Change Your Life


You may have heard before how if you put something out into the Universe, you get it back. But I wanted to talk a little bit about how this principle works. How exactly do we manifest things? Is it just positive thinking? 

I see a lot of people complaining that the universe is not handing out what they want. In fact, many people even complain that the universe conspires against them and makes things worse.

What if there were a secret to manifesting your desires? There is — and you're going to learn it.


Set a daily intention

Let's start simple. What is one thing in your life that you want to make better — more comfortable, more nourishing, more abundant?

The best time to tap into this innate desire within ourselves is first thing in the morning when our mind is fresh and clear. Grab your notebook and write this down right after waking, before you consume any media or reach for your phone, to be sure any outside influences don't interfere with this grounded state of mind. 

Write this manifestation down in the present tense. Include what your life is like with this intention — visualize what it feels like to be basking in the outcome of realizing this goal for yourself.

Focus on what you want

Once you have your intention, make a list of three things you could do that can move you closer to this goal. This could be as simple and mundane as taking care of your body and mind so that your mind stays in a healthy, receptive, regenerative state that propels you forward daily. Often the most basic tasks in our routines hold the greatest power in our lives.

Perhaps this ritual is adding a dash of cinnamon to your morning cup of coffee, or blowing a puff of cinnamon over your doorstep on the first of the month, as a manifestation of abundance into your daily life and home.

Restore your body and mind.

No matter what you do, it's important to start your day off right. Waking up with a clear mind and energized body is a beautiful thing. It gives you the ability to start the day relaxed, creative, and productive. Rituals help ensure that you are doing the right things. Now is the time to adjust your daily rituals for the appropriate balance in your life:

  • drink your water
  • eat whole foods whenever possible
  • ground yourself daily, connect with nature
  • tap into your higher power — pray to God, Universal Source energy, whichever deity you believe in

Practice gratitude 

Each morning, when setting your intentions, write down 3 things you are grateful for that exist in your life right now. These should be written in the present tense, just as your manifestations are.

Seeing these two lists, side by side — the things your are manifesting into your life, and the wonderful, beautiful things that are here already — both written as if they already exist in the here-and-now, will train your subconscious to act as if you have already achieved your manifestations. Living life in this mind-space of basking in your manifestations will position your brain to take empowered action towards your goals with the confidence of someone who has already achieved them.


Observe the blessings around you

Allow joy to enter your life. Openness to new gratitudes can only ever make your life filled with more compassion and love. Connectedness to yourself, others, and the universe will open doors and allow the universe to send more blessings your way. 

Practicing gratitude for what you have sends a message to Source to send you more of the same, just as being overly pessimistic sends the message that you are looking for more reasons to be down. Not that anyone going through it ever deserves more bad things to happen, based on how their mindest is, but looking for the silver lining will always bring a little light to a dark time.


Craft your rituals

Create a ritual — a routine that helps you center yourself and connect to the higher power of your choice (be it God, the Universe, the sacred energy of the Earth, or otherwise). These rituals should feel easy to slip into each day. Perhaps they are just a slight embellishment of your current daily routines, perhaps they are just a touch more grounded or spiritual. 

You've already tapped into the energy of the blessings you desire, and all that is left is to integrate these steps into each day, in a small way. These small ritual acts will act as a conduit for the intention you've set and thrust your manifestations from your mental plane into the physical realm.



If you want to manifest something in your life, you need to do the work.

Expertise doesn't happen overnight, and neither do rituals that create great impact. You can set an intention in a day, and proclaim your goals to the universe, but you have to continue to show up every day. Consistency, even when you don't feel like it, even if you're doubtful in belief, works wonders. Your body and mind can overcome a season of hardship with the consistency of taking one step at a time. 

The path of life is never an easy one to travel, there will be ups and downs. As a result, being in sync with your surroundings and neighbors can contribute to the overall well-being of you and those around you.
